Rocket.Chat and Nextcloud Collaboration Suite

Team conversations and shared files together on a single AWS server.

Sold by Code Creator on AWS Marketplace

Built for your workflow

For distributed teams and businesses that want to operate messaging and file collaboration in their own AWS account.

What’s included

  • Rocket.Chat for team messaging and Nextcloud for file sharing.
  • Docker Compose integration with MongoDB, MariaDB, Redis and reverse-proxy services.
  • Version 6.3 provides trusted HTTPS using the instance public IPv4 address, without a domain name.

What Code Creator adds

Code Creator integrates the collaboration stack, automates first boot and provides instance-specific access guidance. Version 6.3 adds public-IP HTTPS and authenticated MongoDB.

From launch to first use

  1. Launch the AMI and allow the applications and initial HTTPS certificate several minutes to initialize. Retrieve the instance-specific first-login guidance.
  2. Use the secure addresses in that guidance: the HTTPS welcome page, Rocket.Chat on HTTPS port 3000 and Nextcloud on HTTPS port 8080.
  3. Complete Rocket.Chat workspace setup and create the first Nextcloud administrator account. Nextcloud may need several minutes after launch or reboot; wait and refresh before troubleshooting a temporary loading or 502 response.

Use the current Marketplace usage instructions for the full launch procedure and required instance settings.

Before you launch

For v6.3, use HTTPS rather than the older HTTP application URLs. Certificate issuance and renewal require public TCP 443 connectivity; restrict SSH and application ports to intended users and keep databases private. Follow the linked v6.3 customer instructions for current setup details.
